FAQ

The picking tool
Is the Seychelles island data accurate?

The island, transfer method and minimum child age for each resort are checked against resort sites and mainstream travel media. Price ranges and the 0–100 scores are editorial estimates still being reviewed, so treat them as directional rather than exact quotes. If something looks clearly wrong, tell us through the feedback link in the footer.

Why only recommend 3–5 resorts?

The hard part of choosing is not too few options but too many that look alike. The tool filters by hard constraints first, then takes the best few matches and explains why each fits and what to weigh, so you can decide in minutes instead of reading dozens of posts.

Can I browse without answering the questions?

Yes. The Browse page lists every resort we cover and lets you filter by island, budget, transfer and experience. Once you have answered the questions, the list is ordered by your match and flags issues such as over budget or no overwater villas.

Can I save results or change my answers and re-match?

Yes. Every question can be changed in place on the results page and the match recalculates at once, with no need to go back and redo the quiz. Tap the heart on a resort to save it to the Saved page; your answers are also kept locally so they are there next time. All of this lives in the current browser and is lost if you switch device or clear it, so keep your own copy of anything important.

Cost & booking
Can I book on this site?

No. This site only does matching and information; it does not handle booking or payment. Once you have a direction, book yourself through the resort site or an OTA.

What do the displayed prices include?

Prices are estimated nightly room-rate ranges in low and high season and exclude flights, taxes, meal plans and water activities. Seychelles uses the Seychelles rupee (SCR), but most resorts quote in euros or US dollars and add local taxes and service charges at checkout, so confirm when booking.

How much does a trip to Seychelles cost per person?

There is no single number, but you can break it down: return flights (most origins connect, and peak season costs more) + inter-island transfers (ferry, domestic flight, light plane or helicopter — usually far more for outer and private islands) + rooms (mid-range resorts on Mahé or Praslin versus ultra-luxury private islands differ hugely) + food (Seychelles is generally pricey, and BB versus AI makes a big difference) + activities. The “nightly budget” in the quiz covers the room only, so remember to add flights, transfers, food and activities when planning a total.

Is all-inclusive common in Seychelles?

Outer- and private-island resorts mostly default to full board or all-inclusive, covering most meals and activities; resorts on Mahé and Praslin lean towards breakfast or half board, with all-inclusive as an optional add-on. See “Choosing a meal plan” for how to pick.

Itinerary & transfer
When is the best time to visit Seychelles?

Seychelles sits near the equator with 26–32°C all year, so wind is the main variable: December–March, the northwest monsoon, is hotter, more humid, light-winded and calm; May–October, the southeast trades, is cooler, drier and windier with swell and seaweed on southeast-facing coasts; April–May and October–November are transition months with light winds and clear water, usually the best and not yet at peak prices. July–August and Christmas/New Year are the price peaks. See “Weather & seasons” for month-by-month detail.

How do I choose between Mahé, Praslin, La Digue and the private islands?

Mahé has the international airport, road-accessible resorts and the widest choice, and is the easiest; Praslin needs another domestic flight or ferry and has signature sights such as Vallée de Mai and Anse Lazio; La Digue is reached by ferry, known for cycling and granite beaches, at a slow pace; private and outer islands can only be reached by light plane, helicopter or boat and are the most private and priciest. See the “Island guide” for each one.

Does Seychelles have overwater bungalows?

Very few. Unlike the Maldives and Tahiti, nearly all Seychelles resorts are land or beach villas built around granite coves, hill-and-sea views and private pools. Going for an “overwater villa” view is likely to disappoint; whether a given resort has any overwater rooms is on its own profile page.

Family travel
What should I watch for with children?

Check the hard limits first: some private-island and honeymoon-oriented resorts have minimum ages for children, and when you pick your child’s age band in the quiz these are filtered out or flagged. Then the soft factors: whether there is a kids club and whether inter-island transfers (ferry or light plane) are too much for small children. Large Mahé resorts usually have the best family facilities. Wavy beaches are not for small children, and boat and snorkelling activities often have age or height limits — ask the hotel before signing up.

Pre-trip prep
What should I know about visas and entry?

Seychelles requires no visa for visitors of any nationality, but you must obtain an online Travel Authorization before travelling. Rules, fees and length of stay can change, so check the latest official information (immigration or tourism authorities) before you go.

Currency, connectivity, plugs: what to prepare?

Currency: the Seychelles rupee (SCR), though resorts often quote in euros or dollars and generally accept Visa / Mastercard; outer and private islands have no ATMs, so carry small notes from Mahé. Connectivity: usually fine at Mahé, Praslin and La Digue resorts and variable on outer and private islands; tourist SIMs / eSIMs are sold at the airport. Plugs: British Type G (three square pins), 240V — bring an adapter. Language: Creole, English and French are all used, and English works fine at resorts.

What special arrangements can a honeymoon get?

Seychelles is a popular honeymoon and proposal destination, and many private-island resorts offer beach candlelit dinners, private-cove setups and combinations such as La Digue cycling plus a private island, some of them paid extras. See “Honeymoons & proposals” for the fuller list of add-ons.
