Noonu Atoll
Seaplane only — an ultra-private high-end circle
Noonu is one of the atolls where ultra-high-end resorts cluster; deep lagoons, overwater villas and large residences are the theme. Islands are few and spread out, privacy is strong, and it suits a trip where "not being disturbed" comes first. Because it is seaplane-only, schedules and weather constrain your arrival time more.

- Mostly seaplane, ~40–45 min; a few islands (Kuredhivaru, Sun Siyam Iru Fushi and others) also allow a domestic flight from Malé to Maafaru airport plus a speedboat.

Who it suits
Couples, honeymoons and anniversaries wanting all-inclusive ease and maximum privacy. Soneva Jani’s overwater villas have a retractable roof and a slide; Cheval Blanc Randheli is LVMH’s French luxury — neither is cheap, but you get very low guest density in return.
Why not with elders
The seaplane is a small propeller floatplane with no jet bridge; take-off and landing pitch, and turbulence makes it bumpy. Most Noonu islands have no speedboat alternative (a few allow a domestic flight to Maafaru plus a speedboat), so even one leg can be a burden for a transfer-sensitive elder. Travelling with parents, a North / South Malé speedboat island is the better call.
Beyond the ultra-luxury
Noonu is not all Soneva / Cheval Blanc: Siyam World is a rare big-island all-inclusive here (value, plenty of activities, family), Sun Siyam Iru Fushi is a 221-villa Premium AI big island, and Kuredhivaru (105 all-pool villas, the over-water restaurant BODUMAS; formerly Mövenpick, renamed in 2025 with a planned Mondrian flag) sits in between as a high-luxury private-pool island - note it has changed brand twice in two years, so the experience carries a transition.
